FISH OBITUARIES:an anti-bloggers's blog

SINDWINDER BLOG POST #13.9: LIGHT

Cape Blanco Lighthouse

The lighthouse could be seen for 23 nautical miles.

The first keeper lived there 38 years, the next 42.

The road was steep from campground to beach. Flashlights. A sliver of moon.

The camp hosts were friendly, though they had no change.

Firewood was $5 a bundle and we got some.

Showers for free. Water spigots in each sight.

The sound of waves while sleeping

Birds. Giant peilcans. A single seal.

Trees dripping all night long.
